Chanson de l'Ange Book Two The Bleeding Rose Volume 2 Paisley Swan Stewart Books
"The Bleeding Rose," book 2 of the wonderful Phantom of the Opera trilogy by Paisley Swan Stewart, is even more riveting than book 1. With its lush description, like Christine, I was spellbound by Erik and found myself picking it up again within minutes of putting it down.In " The Bleeding Rose," Christine is a young woman discovering romantic love. She is torn between her love for Erik, the man, Erik, the Angel of Music, and Raoul, her childhood friend. Erik, the man, possesses a volatile temper and a psyche that has been damaged by the trauma of his childhood and years of isolation. The angel is perfect, and Christine is bound to him by his voice and their shared love of music. Christine loves them both, but can she deal with Erik, the man? Raoul's love is safe, and he offers her the security of his protection and a comfortable life as the wife of a nobleman.
As the story unfolds, the author delves into the mind of Christine, as she struggles to make her choice between Erik and Raoul, both of whom she loves, but in different ways. Insight is also given into Erik, and his fragile emotional state, as he fights for the woman he loves.
One of the things I enjoyed most about this book is the fleshing-out of the character of Christine. Often, Christine is depicted as a very one-dimensional, empty-headed character. The Christine found within the pages of this book is a very complex young woman, and I came away with a better understanding of her and why she made the choices that she made.
Overall, book 2 is even better than book 1, and I can't wait to read book 3.

Chanson de l'Ange Book Two The Bleeding Rose Volume 2 Paisley Swan Stewart Books Reviews
Inspired by the 2004 movie of the ALW musical, this re-imagining brings life and depth to the characters and the tale, which were lacking in the movie. Each of the characters becomes real. The author is to be commended for avoiding the usual character assassinations that are often used in retelling the Phantom's story. What is also impressive is that she has avoided making her antagonists into villains. Yes, they may do villainous things but its not purely for the sake of be dreadful (except maybe for Bouquet).
I really enjoyed this book and feel that it has a great story line. The only thing that would make it better was for Erik to NOT refere to himself in the third person. Someone with all his Genius attributes should not sound like he is speaking like Tarzan!
Other than that, I enjoyed the book.
This book showed both sides of Eric the angel of music and the phantom of the opera the angel with Christine and the phantom of the opera when Eric is not with Christine Christine is red not pink Eric no longer needs the mask because he is not the angel of music he is the phantom of the opera
Fantastic! Fantastic! Fantastic! This is a GREAT novel. I love it! It's one of my favorites now.
If you LOVE Phantom of the Opera and you're looking for a book to satisfy a craving, Seriously - Do Not Look Any Further! You've found it! READ THIS!
After reading a book with words of such beauty, description, and utter fascinating depth of character, I find it difficult to write a review. I fell in love with Madame Giry's character and envisioned her as someone I'd want as a friend or mother. Paisley manages to add this depth, to each one of Leroux's characters and fills in the gaps with believable details. She accomplishes this depth primarily with Erik, by exposing the inner workings of his tormented mind. "The Bleeding Rose," also has some gotchas, hair-raising moments, and enjoyable tidbits like 'the pamphlet.' Lastly, as I neared the end, I was so glad I had book three on hand to prevent an agony of anticipation. Di
Hello phans
I finished reading this 3-part series...and it blew my mind!!! I smiled, wept, and pondered my own life. The first and second books retell the story we already know, but with some creative additions. The third novel focuses more on how christine, meg, raoul, mrs. Giry, and old and new members of the paris opera house publish and popularize erik's songs and stories. The authoress questions whether god is good and/or bad, like the authoress of the mortal instruments series. The tales are written mostly well, but with a few grammar errors.
I first read the first two books about three years ago so when the revised version came out I decided to read them all from the beginning again. It was a wonderful decision because they are so sweet, detailed and filled with action that it would have been impossible to remember everything. And believe me, it's worth remembering. This second book takes us deeper in the roller coaster of emotions, as fragile as the human heart and as strong as the most enduring dream. The characters are making the decisions of their lifetime and it's not easy, it's not simple and it cannot wait. As I just finished the second book I started to devour the third one. So, if you're hesitant about reading the whole saga, believe me, you don't want to miss out. It's that good!!!
