Lisa Renee Jones is a master at writing contemporary romance with a suspenseful twist at every turn. I fell in love with her writing while reading the Inside Out Series (don't miss by the way) and The Amy Bensen story is no exception to her masterful writing. You are immediately swept into Amy's life as she begins another episode of escaping this time to Denver… running for her life. Why you don't know... that's the brilliance of this story. She meets Liam Stone and wow... is he something else. This man knows what he wants and he wants Amy at any cost... and will not take no! He keeps pursuing her until she surrenders to all his ways, even the erotic ones. One note from my perspective since having read many of Jones books... the sex was slightly lacking for me and not enough of it. I know she has to share more details in suspense novels to have the story unwind in a timely manner... but I would have liked it with more detail. This is all new territory for Amy and at times it felt rushed and thrown in at odd places. That being said I’m not knocking because the book was so exceptional in the “story telling”. This story ends and sets you up perfectly for Infinite Possibilities... part two which is available.

Lastly, you can’t beat this awesome story for a BUCK! Read it today! Highly recommend.

Amy Benson is just the creation of her 'handler' who once saved her life from the people who for some reason killed her family. She's been put on the run with a new identity and new life for the past six years having to hide in the shadows, not risking the chance of getting close to anyone in case she gets found.

Finally making a life for herself in New York she receives a mysterious letter from her Handler telling her it's no longer safe, take nothing but the secured belongings in a locker at the airport and head to Denver where a new identity, apartment, money and job awaits her. She goes without question. Why wouldn't she?? This "Handler" guy saved her life once before even though she has no idea who he is, how he's connected to her parents murder and why she's so important to keep alive. At the airport she makes googly eyes with a drop dead gorgeous guy who she happens to be seated next to on the plane. Liam Stone just happens to be a billionaire prodigy architect from the young age of thirteen who is now the most sought out architect in the world.....pppht please! Why do authors always have to make the male leads, gorgeous and sexy beyond belief, billionaires and control freaks. Yep, that's what he is. He's controlling and bossy but utterly perfect it's ridiculous. Don't get me wrong it's hot in the bedroom but it is over the top when Amy can't make her mind up and switches between angry and confused one second to suddenly in heat with her vagina gushing wetness to pushing him away. She wants him, she doesn't. It's not safe to be with him but she does and then tries to leave but five seconds later changes her mind.

The first half on the book goes like this. I got bored and frustrated. My other reasons for this is their relationship evolves super quick. They go back to her apartment and get it on. He just wants to f her and leave but spends loads of money on her despite her objections. Then that night decides she's different and wants to stick around. He's sweet for wanting to care for her but it's unbelievable how fast they progress. He's asking her to never leave him after like 2 days and he obviously knows something doesn't add with her. To tell you the truth you won't completely trust Liam and for good reason after what she's been through and odd coincidences that seem to occur.

The same goes for her neighbour Jared. You don't get to know much about him but you can't help but feel he's involved somehow.

Look I gave this book 3 stars because the second half to 3/4 way through finally gave me something more interesting to read as Amy finally decides to actually research and try and find out whats going on. (I couldn't believe she hadn't already tried)The ending was good enough that I'm now waiting to read the second installment. I want to know who's who, where and what the hell happened to her family.

Going by all the raving reviews I'm in the minor majority who wasn't completely taken at first but for the price of .99cents I think it has potential and in the end draws you in. Have a crack.
Amy is on the run from a horrible event in her past. Her life is in danger. She has an unknown person who warns her when it is time for her to move and supplies her with a new identity. Escaping Reality starts with her handler's message to leave and leave fast. She does, and while flying standby, she attracts the attention of a fellow passenger. He gets her on board first class and the attraction is mutual. Their mutual attraction is hot, fast and intense. Liam is sexy, caring, controlling, and, of course, as is too prevalent in too many books...a billionaire. Amy's new location worries Liam...her apartment is unfurnished, her neighbor is potential competition. Amy begins to worry about her new job. Several things don't make sense. Liam is a great distraction, but she begins to worry if she needs to disappear or can she trust Liam, or will she place him in danger. This is obviously a series and this book ends in a cliffhanger. That said, I was hooked in the first couple of pages. Book Two is currently available, but you have a short wait for Three and Four (August and September, 2015). I am getting Book Two and pre- ordering the other two.
I have calmed down lately with my 5 Star rating because I felt like I was giving to many out... but here is the thing there is no other rating then 5 star for Escaping Reality All 5 Stars are EARNED. I bow to Lisa She is the QUEEN of Suspense. I have never read another author who can keep me on the edge of my seat photo suspense and keep me guessing and keep me dying to find out whats going to happen all the way until the very end of the book. "Amy" is on the run from who or what we do not know, what we do know is she has this mysterious "handler" who saved her life. Did he really save her life? I don't know maybe he is actually hiding her from people who care about her? I HAVE NO CLUE! Because Lisa doesn't want me to know these things yet. (How I wish I knew because the wait for the next book is going to torture me) OK so anywhoo when her handler tells her it is time to run again Amy meets a handsome stranger who she feels uncontrollably drawn to. Liam has the same pull to Amy but he sees more then Amy wants him to, and he knows she is running photo and he wishes she would open up to him and let him protect her from her "Godzilla" who haunts her dreams. Liam is a tad bit Kinky if you catch my drift. But as much as he craves her body he also craves her heart and her trust as well. Amy trusts Liam (though he doesn't believe her) but she is terrified of putting him in this unknown to us danger.
