Enchanting, magical, and a delight to read. Author Jill Sayre has captured our imagination in this creative tale of adventure. Smart, intellectual tweens, teens and any age reader will appreciate this creative story. It will make even the most skeptical among us believe in the seemingly impossible.

I was looking for a book to read with my 7 year old grand daughter after we exhausted The Borrowers series of books. The book focuses on a girl and her grandmother - perfect. Great book!
Fairies of Turtle Creek is simply enchanting. I will admit that I started to read this story on my own because I had heard about this book and Jill Sayre the writer before the book was even in print.But I realized I was really leaving my daughter out in the cold of this excitement.Then it finally occurred to me how much better an adventure and a fantasy that this could be if we just share it together. She is ten now but it feels like just yesterday that we went on our fairy hunts and collected acorns for fairy hats and leaves for place mats. And only two chapters into the book she was pulling out all her old fairy dolls, house and toys and bring the magic back to life. We love fairies at our house!And we are grateful for this book.
This is such a great book, for so many reasons. Love of family, country, nature and all discovered by a teen who is artfully portrayed with her strengths & "flaws". The author has woven her fairy dust into my heart and I am so proud to call her my cousin! I will be recommending this book to all my friends regardless of their age. Deeply moving and heartfelt, I hope to be reading more books from this talented writer.
I just finished reading this lovely book! It’s a wonderful story and very different from what I would normally read, but I enjoyed it thoroughly! It gave me an opportunity to see the world through not only female eyes, but a teen-aged girl’s eyes and heart, and the special relationship and impact that separated generations can share.

I loved how the author made the 13 year-old lead character, Claire, so strong, rational, and focused, but also allowed her to open herself up to intuition and wonder. It’s a great message for young girls today, that they can be both intelligent and love learning and science, but also can be expressive and open to their and other’s feelings.

This story re-awoke my own memories - as I'm sure it may similarly do for many readers - of a summer I spent with my grandparents when I was 11, especially with my grandfather, and how special he made me feel. Your book brought back memories of the stories he shared with me about my family and his life - and life in general.
